The Breeding Beef project is designed to provide experience in selecting, growing, developing, breeding, and managing breeding animals. This project normally begins with choosing a heifer calf nine months old or less, and feeding, developing, and maintaining ownership of the animal. Many young people go on to start a cattle herd of their own. This is a long-term project, and there may not be any income for the young person’s efforts for several years. The dairy cattle project is a great way to learn more about the dairy industry, milk production, animal nutrition, health, and reproduction. Dairy project participants can demonstrate their knowledge and abilities through dairy cattle shows from the local to the national level, in public speaking contests, and in dairy cattle judging.
Participation in the Dog Show gives members the opportunity to train their dogs, gain confidence by achieving their goals, and learn about good sportsmanship. Our Dog Show consists of agility, obedience, showmanship, and rally events.
Rabbits cannot be defined as solely livestock or companion animal as they are unique and multi-purpose with any single breeder utilizing their herd for more than one purpose.

This includes a $20 million value for rabbits raised for meat, but does not include rabbits which are pets or show rabbits."
The poultry project teaches participants proper methods of selecting, feeding, and raising a project animal for the purpose of showing, marketing, and or consuming the eggs. Record keeping is an important part of the Poultry Project and the poultry industry in Florida. Records are kept on the type and amount of feed fed, vaccinations, and other flock health practices.
