SWINE GENERAL REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. The SRF General Rules and Regulations apply to this Division and Shows.
  2. Health Requirements 5C-4.0017 & 5C-4.003
  3. Swine with evidence of “crooked nose” disease will not be allowed in the fair.

SWINE RULES

  1. Entry Fees: $35.00.
  2. All swine must be barrows or gilts. Male hogs must have been cut at the time of the initial tag in.
  3. Swine will not be weighed at the initial tag in. All animals and exhibitors must be present at the initial tag in.
  4. Swine must be clean and parasite free at the March entry.
  5. Maximum weight at the March weigh-in will be 290 pounds, minimum weight will be 230 pounds.
  6. No swine may change their assigned pens without authorization of a fair official.
  7. No hay is allowed in the swine pens.
  8. No clipping at fair grounds, violation is subject to removal from show and sale.
  9. The wash area next to the dairy barn and facing the concession stand is for washing of swine only. NO clipping or electrical equipment allowed.
  10. Swine will be weighed only once. The exhibitor, at this time, may request the animal be removed from the scales, the scales re-balanced and the animal immediately re-weighed.
  11. A 16% sales commission and a pork check-off fee of .0045% of market (resale) value, as required by law, will be deducted from the exhibitor’s proceeds.
  12. Recommended Clipping: No Shorter Than 3/8 inch.
  13. Exhibitors must provide an automatic watering system for their hog. Each animal must have their own water source.
