2012 Ag-Mgt Contest Topic Areas
The topic areas are as follows. There are study guides in each division such as a rabbit study guides that will help you study for this years topics. We have listed the weeds for you to study. You will need to use the internet or ask your FFA Advisor or 4-H Agent for information on soil test. If we have time, We will add what information we can for weeds and soils.
The topics for the 2012 Fair are as follows:
Poultry – Cut-up carcass parts, General body parts
Rabbits - Parasites and Disease
Dairy – Mammary System
Horse – Face & Leg Markings
All Breeds – General Health such as Normal body temperature, Gestation, etc.
Feed Stuff
Invasive and Noxious Weeds – Common Pokeweed, Cogongrass, Lantana, Nightshade, Tropical Soda Apple, Smutgrass, Fireweed, Redroot, Crotalaria, Thistle, Blackberry, Prickly Pear, Dogfennel

YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOW ETHICS & ANIMAL CARE WORKSHOPS – REQUIRED
The requirements for the 2012 Fair are as follows: Youth that are encouraged to receive training for the 2012 Suwannee River Fair; however, will have a one (1) year grace period to complete the Ethics training.
You are responsible for all rules, regulations, entry forms, and project summary sheets.

Fat – 10/1/11 @ 7:30-9:30 a.m.
Feeder – 12/3/11 @ 7:30-9:30 a.m.
Swine – 12/10/11 @ 7:00-9:30 a.m.
Heifer – 12/10/11 @ 10:00-12:00 p.m.

Entry Form Deadline For All Other Divisions

January 12-18, 2012 Double Entry Fee
Exhibitors must enter their animals on a completed official entry form that has been signed by the exhibitor, exhibitor’s parent or guardian, and the FFA Advisor, 4-H Agent or 4-H Leader. Entry forms are due according to Registration Deadlines and with the correct fees. No refunds will be made after entry deadline.

Pullet Management Contest
This is a new contest for the 2012 Fair Year.
Participants must purchase the chicks from the fair association on or before September 20th 2011 by contacting Thelma Thompson at 352.222.5531. The cost will be $20.00 for 6 pullets, feed and stuff to get you started. You will then pick your chicks up on 15 October 2011 at the:

The Suwannee River Fair Association is a private, nonprofit corporation. The Suwannee River Fair and Livestock Show and Sale, is the sole activity and purpose of the Suwannee River Fair Association. The goal of the Association is to provide for the facilities, infrastructure, funding, and management of the Fair.
